Top Ten DIY Colorful Advent Calendars

by Jessica Amey

I love crafting at Christmas, there are so many reasons to make things and when the weather is horrible staying indoors and creating is a great way to pass the time.

Making your own advent calendars is a really lovely idea and it means you can avoid chocolate if you wish but still make the countdown to Christmas Day exciting for the kids.

Here are my TOP TEN DIY ADVENT CALENDARS…

TOP TEN DIY COLOURFUL ADVENT CALENDARS

1 – This brilliantly bright advent calendar is by Love From Ginger and she provides you with a free printable to make one yourself.

2 – You can find this one over at The Sweet Escape, I love the way it uses a stick, I’m a huge fan of stick crafts.

3 – This is a really different idea for an advent calendar and I love the colours. It also comes with a printable which you can find here: Mr Printables.

4 – I love the way this one uses tins, we get through a lot in our house and I like to recycle them if I can. You can find it over at House to Home.

5 – This is just so pretty and I love the colours and the way they’ve been created using natural products mixed with water. You can find it at GRIOTTES.

6 – This is actually one I made using old toilet rolls, it’s over on my other blog: Along Came Cherry.

7. I like the way this one uses matchboxes, they are perfect for hiding tiny little presents or a little note. You can find it here: 101 Woonideeen.

8. I’ve got a sewing machine this year and am looking to make a fabric advent calendar which is why I love this one. You can find it here: Love My Dress.

9. This one looks really simple to make, we all have a hanger lying around. You can find it here: By Fryd.

10 – I love the way you could make this look different depending on what kind of paper you used, it can be found over at A Beautiful Mess.
