I woke up with the idea to make these simple felt flowers this morning. I don’t remember dreaming about them but I did spend the day at a blog conference for creatives yesterday so although I was exhausted when I went to sleep my mind must have been processing all the inspiring talks I listened to. If only it happened every morning!
I love flowers for brightening up my house but real ones don’t last for very long and make a mess so fake ones are so much better, even more so when you make them yourself or with your kids.
These are super bright and colourful and would make a lovely present for someone too.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the most amazing idea but it’s such a great craft for kids because it’s SO simple.
To make these felt flowers you will need:
-Felt
– Pipe Cleaners
– Paint
– Paper Plant Posts or Disposable Cups
Start by painting the plant pots and leaving them to dry.
Cut some flower shapes out of the felt and snip a hole in the middle. Then push the pipe cleaner through and fold the end down twice.
When the pots are dry make a hole in the center of the bottom then stick the felt flower down through the hole. Make another hole on one of the edges to push the end of the pipe cleaner back into the pot then twist them together at the bottom and bend the flower into shape.
So simple!
