First Time At A Ski Resort? Ask For These Fun Outdoor Activities

by Jessica Amey

When we usually talk about travelling, images of people swimming in clear blue waters or strolling around huge history museums come to mind. But these are not the only kind of holidays that a person can go on. People who enjoy winter holidays usually go to ski resorts.

If you give ski holidays a chance, you will see that they can be super fun even if you are not a fan of snow or winter. Ski resorts offer a variety of services and activities so that they can accommodate all kinds of tourists. The only thing that you should spend some time researching is the available ski passes on Erna Low offered from the ski resort you’re
interested in. This way you will save both money and time.

Now once you are there, ask if you can do one of the following fun activities which will make you see what you’ve been missing.

  1. Ski Lessons
Since this is your first time at a ski resort, I’m guessing that you don’t know how to ski. Well, it’s never too late. You will be able to rent or buy all the ski gear you need and you will either join a group of other novice skiers or have one-to-one lessons with a trained ski instructor. It might be difficult or scary at the beginning, but you will soon see that the more you practise the better you become.
  2. Snowshoeing
If you are too afraid of skiing or snowboarding but you do want to explore the mountainous landscape, you can try snowshoeing. Again you will need to rent or buy the necessary equipment, snowshoes and ski poles, and to hire an instructor to help you get the hang of it. Snowshoeing is a lot like hiking, as you will learn how to safely walk on snow and enjoy your surroundings. Not to mention that it is a great form of exercise with many health benefits.
  3. Snowmobiling
A less tiring and cardio-heavy way to explore the mountains is snowmobiling. Many ski resorts conduct tours during which people are driving snowmobiles all around the vast area. If you think that driving a car is entertaining, then snowmobiling will be an awesome adventure that you will never forget.
  4. Ski Lifts
Ski lifts’ main purpose is to transfer skiers from one piste to another quickly and effortlessly. However, that does not mean that non-skiers are not allowed to use them. On the contrary, this is one more way you can admire and appreciate the stunning landscape.
  5. Sledging
A perfect activity if you are bad at or too afraid of winter sports is sledging. All you have to do is sit on a sledge and let gravity do its thing by sliding down snowy slopes. You will see both adults and children spending hours doing this as their adrenaline rises high and they have fun without doing anything too difficult or skilful.
